It’s been an honor to serve with you all
I will not be taking the buyout. But I am a probationary employee . 6 months ago I started on this journey with you all and it has been the greatest honor of my life to be a federal employee. There is nothing that has given me more hope and more pride than to take the Oath of Office and serve my county. I waited for so long to have my chance, and I finally got it. My supervisors have said I’m a hard worker and that they would love to keep me on, but with the news coming from Alt National Park Service about all probationary employees being cut , I’m afraid that will no longer be an option. I’m not saying it’s a done deal, but it seems like the writing is on the wall for us probation employees.
I am beyond heartbroken over this. I dreamed of this job, I worked so hard to get it, it has been my greatest source of pride and my joy. I have loved what I do. Now it looks like that will all be coming to an end.
I want to say thank you to each and everyone one of you. Please hold the line for me (some rando federal employee you don’t know) and for all other probationary employees who will get cut by this. We may not be able to continue the fight with you, but we will never give up. So it has been an honor and a privilege to serve this country with you all.
