Does anyone know why exactly people think Israel is “genociding” Palestinians?

I’ve seen this discussion going on and I’m sure you have too. Besides rhetoric from some Israeli officials (which I do condemn), has anyone seen anything to justify calling Israel’s response a “genocide”? Feels like people just want this to escalate. And it also seems to me a projection of what Hamas would do to Israelis if given free reign (October 7th but “from the river to the sea”). It would seem to me that if Israel was g-wording the Palestinians then asking them to evacuate first would be a pretty bad tactic.
