Frustrated about Lily May.

First of all I am semi free to play, I only buy noble path and fable road. So, I started this game when lily may was in rate up (important later). Didn't know anything about the game at first, but I am really into it now. I follow guides do well in all the modes etc. I am on day 50. Apparently it seems that the whole game is based around Lily May now. I cannot find one player in arena without lily may. A 5 star Lily May can wipe out my entire team with her ult. In comparison I have Thoran, Cecia, Smokey, Koko and Odie all supreme+ with 3 stars, so not even a weak team. There is no guide or comp for Dream/Primal lord/Guild Supremacy without Lily May. You cannot deal enough damage in these modes without Lily May. Now we have a limited time event the Heroic Gauntlet and at lvl 6 you cannot do it without atleast a 3 star Lily May. How is the whole game revolving around one hero? How is that fair?

Before anyone asks, Yes I have added her to wishlist and I am spending diamonds to get her. But it is luck based and luck isn't favoring me. She is only Mythic. I didn't even know that she was this important when I started (how am i suppose to?) so I didn't really bother to get her with rate up. Once I got into the game she was already gone and Mikola was in rate up. She was only recently updated to be added to wishlist.

Am I just bad? Or am I being delusional? I feel like taking the game seriously is not worth it at all without an upgraded Lily May. I feel like the whole game is now centered around who has the better Lily May. I am really frustrated, please help. I love the game and this is the first and only mobile game I was interested enough to spend money on, I dont want to give up this early. Is this a problem you guys have been facing as well? How are you taking it?

Edit: To be fair I am winning all of my supreme arena and Honor duels. Cannot complain about these 2 modes. Simply because if I see a lily may on any one of the boards in Supreme Arena I dont put anything on my side, I simply win the other 2 baords. Even If I win that seems so unfair and cheap to win. And Honor duels are amazing in being fair Lily May cant do shit there.
