Can someone explain the difference between the 9950x3d and the 9800x3d with gaming and overall tasks like I'm a 5 year old trying to decide what to eat

So confused about both cpus. 16 cores are better but not better for gaming but more cores means that games can be utilized more? So confusing so it's just best to explain like I can't decide what to order off the kids menu type of easy
