I think this game has two noteable issues:

  1. Risk vs. Reward - In extraction shooters, I always have at least a small pit in my stomach, thinking that I might lose my eq/kit. I didn't have that at all in ABI. If I died, everything could be purchased off the market. As long as I had a little cash, I could have whatever I wanted. Top tier ammo, gear, whatever, I could get it without any worry. This also defeated the purpose of gear imo. Your armor didn't matter when everyone had the best ammo (not going to go down the ap slug rabbit hole).

  2. Progression - this goes hand in hand with my other comment. I did missions to get me to the market, but after that, it didn't matter. I didn't get anything from them that mattered. With me being able to purchase whatever, whenever, who cares what the next unlock is. Nothing i owned felt earned. In the long term, this is going to be a huge issue, especially since the game is not 'wiping' seasonally.

Someone made a comment about comparing this to tarkov, that we shouldn't because this is a new beta, but we should. Some will prefer one or the other, I just don't think people will have time to sink into both games or desire to do so. Tarkov is the only extraction shooter that has viability long-term unless you consider Hunt the same genre. Tarkov does so much wrong, but nails the points I have above so well that it keeps people engaged.
