Who is the best man you ever dated/married? What made them great?

I understand a lot of women are coming here in crisis, but reading post after post about relationships and all the responses makes me feel like all men are terrible, and there is no hope or point in dating them anymore.

This is not a critique on the women who are posting--I'm glad this is a place we can commiserate, vent, and seek advice. But it truly paints a depressing picture. After scrolling through, I'm always like ugh, why bother even trying to date?? Even guys who start out seemingly great end up being assholes. I feel so heartbroken for so many of the women on here and the situations with boyfriends or husbands which range from just annoying to truly awful.

So with a new year, I'm looking for a little bit of optimism and hope if there's any to be had. Ladies, if you're with a good man or had a good one for a number of years, what's your story? What makes him great? Where did you meet?
