Scared
I (20F) have had mild asthma since I was a baby, but is now classed as severe. I had about a week long hospital admission in November 2023 and October 2024, both of which started as just an upper respiratory tract infection and turned into back to back asthma attacks.
I’ve now got a chest infection, coughing up bright green mucus and mild wheezing. I have a gp appointment today but I’m just scared. They told me at my last review that they want to avoid steroids as I’ve had so many in the last couple years and I’m already on the strongest inhaler. I’m just scared of another hospital admission, I have a 9 month old daughter, the first admission I was pregnant and the second she was about 6/7 months, it was horrible being away from her. Being on a respiratory ward I didn’t want her coming to see me as I’m worried she’ll catch what I have or something else.
Any advice or just encouragement would be really appreciated!!
