AWOL J-1 Visa Status

I worked as an AP since March 2024. I met my BF a few months after I came to the US. My HF told me that they did not wish to extend for another year so my BF proposed. We got married at the end of December and I went to live with my BF a week after we got married. I never contacted the Agency or my HF after I moved in with him, I assume my J-1 status is marked as AWOL. Does it matter since I already applied for an Adjustment of Status before I left my HF and the program? There is no home residence requirement on my visa.
