Primary school “slave day”

Does anyone else remember slave day? This was the day in primary towards the end of the year 6 when you were auctioned off to be a slave. I remember students standing on stage, with torn clothing, and everyone shouting out bids to get a year 6 “slave for a day” that would sharpen your pencil etc.

Was a great time.

This legitimately happened during the early-mid 2000s in a Sydney public school. I’m not sure if my primary school was the only school that did this so I’m reaching out for any similar experiences. Did your school do slave day? Does not seem to be a thing anymore.
