(Repost because the image wasn't loading) Be honest with me: what are somethings I could have done differently when decorating this cake?
This is a cake I made for my father's 38th birthday. It's two brownies layered with chocolate Russian buttercream, iced with blue and turquoise Russian buttercream with edible gold and silver dust, white lettering icing, and gold sugar stars. I've already identified some problems with it, the primary ones being that I had to make the buttercream by hand without a mixer and ended up over-mixing/mixing inconsistently, the fact that I didn't do a crumb coat, the way I spread the turquoise icing is inconsistent so it's thin in some areas, and I didn't wait for the chocolate buttercream to set properly so the weight of the top brownie caused the cake to become lopsided. Other than that, what can I do differently the next time I decorate a cake? What else should I consider? And on a scale of 0-10, how would you rate this attempt?
