Does anyone else think the song Mujhe Peene Do by Darshan Raval send the wrong message about dealing with breakups?

Hey Reddit!

I was listening to the song Mujhe Peene Do by Darshan Raval, and while I think the music and melody are genuinely good, tThe line "Mujhe peene do" ) really feels like it’s glamorizing self-destruction as a way to cope with heartbreak .I mean, I get that breakups hurt, but isn't giving in to alcohol just proving the point of your ex calling you a "loser"? If someone dumped you and then sees you spiraling, it just validates their decision to leave, and make them feel glad that they left an alcoholic loser. Why not take the high road instead—work on yourself, get fit, invest in your hobbies, or focus on becoming a better version of you?

I can’t deny that the music of the song is catchy, and I totally get why it can feel relatable when you’re going through pain. But don’t songs like this also encourage toxic coping mechanisms?

What do you guys think—am I overthinking it, or does anyone else feel like these types of songs send the wrong message?

Would love to hear your thoughts!
