If Canada becomes the 51st state, will it vote Republican?

I thought that most Canadian voters were left wing: they kept voting in Trudeau. If they become a state, or even two or three states, won’t that mean more Democrat senators and a whole bunch of Democrat representatives? What’s the President’s plan to stop this?
