Is this a structural beam?

I have this large beam going across my living room and I’d like to get rid of it, but I’m scared it might be a structural beam. Is there an easy way how to tell if it’s structural or not, or should I get a structural engineer out? I’d like to save £300 if I can 🫠 If it’s of any help - there are gaps between the ceiling and the beam in some places, but I also understand it might not be relevant.
