I am writing Death Battle, where Guts (Berserk) fights Leper (DD). May I ask about your opinions so far?
Wiz:
"Throughout history, warriors have battled against impossible odds, driven by sheer willpower and an unbreakable spirit. Today, we pit two of the grittiest, most battle-worn swordsmen against each other: Leper, the plague-ridden knight of Darkest Dungeon…"
Boomstick:
"…And Guts, the god-slaying badass from Berserk! He’s got a sword the size of a bus and enough trauma to make a therapist retire!"
Wiz:
"I’m Wiz."
Boomstick:
"And I’m Boomstick!"
Wiz:
"And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win… a Death Battle!"
—Leper Analysis—
Wiz: "The Leper was once a noble king named Baldwin, a ruler of a mighty land. But fate was unkind—struck by leprosy, his body decayed, his face rotted beneath his golden mask, and he was cast out into exile. Yet rather than despair, he embraced his suffering and transformed into a warrior of terrifying strength. Eventually, he arrived at the Hamlet, where he became one of the many doomed adventurers battling against eldritch horrors."
Boomstick: "Dude, he’s literally falling apart and still swinging that slab of iron like it’s made of feathers! And that mask? If I didn’t know better, I’d think he was a horror movie villain!"
Wiz: "Despite his affliction, Leper’s raw physical strength is legendary. His greatsword, The Hew, is capable of cleaving multiple enemies in one strike, and his attack known as Chop has enough force to split through steel and bone alike. Even the toughest eldritch horrors of the Darkest Dungeon fear his blade."
Boomstick: "Yeah, let’s talk about what this guy’s done! In battle, Leper has single-handedly cut through abominations, eldritch horrors, undead legions, and cosmic entities straight out of Lovecraft’s nightmares! He even battled the Heart of Darkness, an incomprehensible, god-like entity that warps reality itself!"
-Stats-
Wiz: "Leper’s raw striking power is monstrous. He can one-shot the Swine Prince, a 15-20 foot-tall, multi-ton mutant hog monster that can shrug off attacks from entire adventuring parties."
Boomstick: "Yeah! This big, bloated porky bastard can take swords, spells, and arrows from a full adventuring crew and barely flinch. But when Leper steps in? One chop, and it’s bacon time!"
Wiz: "For Leper to achieve this, his sword strike must generate at least 5-9 megajoules of force—comparable to an anti-tank shell impact or a wrecking ball swinging at full force. That’s enough to cleave through steel and pulverize stone in a single blow."
Boomstick: "Just imagine this dude walking into your local BBQ joint and slicing up an entire hog in one swing!"
Wiz: "But it’s not just his strength—Leper is shockingly durable for a man whose flesh is literally rotting."
Boomstick: "Yeah! This guy tanks multiple hits from the Swine Prince, and keep in mind, that porky bastard can crush human warriors with one swing."
Wiz: "A creature of that size and strength delivers strikes equivalent to a car crash impact, dealing around 200,000 to 500,000 joules of force per hit. And Leper? He just keeps going."
Boomstick: "So what you’re saying is, this guy tanks blows that would turn an ordinary knight into chunky salsa?"
Wiz: "Precisely. His sheer endurance allows him to fight through wounds that would kill most men. And thanks to abilities like Withstand, he can ignore pain entirely and boost his resilience mid-fight. Combine that with Solemnity, and he can heal massive amounts of damage while still standing."
Boomstick: "So, you’re telling me that this rotting dude can just stand there, take an axe to the chest, and heal right through it? That’s messed up!"
Wiz: "Now, you’d think all that strength and toughness would make him slow, right? Wrong. Leper has been shown to dodge bullets fired by bandits at close range."
Boomstick: "Wait, wait—he’s a big, armored corpse, and he’s dodging gunfire?"
Wiz: "Flintlock pistols and muskets fire at speeds between 300-450 m/s (subsonic to low supersonic). Given that Leper reacts after the shot is fired, his reaction speed is estimated at 50-100 m/s—placing him firmly in the superhuman range."
Boomstick: "Which means he’s not just some slow, lumbering brute—he’s fast enough to react to gunfire and avoid lethal strikes in the heat of battle!"
-Combat Items & Enhancements-
Wiz: "Leper’s strength and endurance are further enhanced by the various artifacts he collects throughout his journey. These trinkets push his physical limits even further:" •Berserk Mask – Increases his damage and speed, but weakens his ability to heal. •Healing Armlet – Enhances his regeneration, letting him sustain himself better. •Immunity Mask – Boosts his disease, blight, and stun resistance, delaying his body’s inevitable decay. •Fortunate Armlet – Compensates for his diminishing eyesight, increasing his chance to land hits. •Legendary Bracer – Further enhances his already absurd strength. •Martyr’s Seal – Makes him even harder to kill, granting a last stand power boost near death.
Boomstick: "So, he’s got trinkets that make him hit harder, tank damage like a boss, and even resist his own rotting disease? That’s busted!"
Wiz: "Oh, but that’s nothing compared to the Blood potion, a rare and powerful substance that grants its user a frenzied boost in strength and speed. When consumed, it amplifies Leper’s already monstrous abilities, letting him fight at a level beyond human limits."
Boomstick: "So you’re saying he drinks this weird vampire juice, and suddenly he’s even stronger and faster?"
Wiz: "Exactly. While under its effects, Leper’s attacks become even more devastating, his reflexes sharpen, and his resilience increases dramatically. However, prolonged use could worsen his already deteriorating body."
Wiz: “And when all seems lost, Leper can achieve a state of Virtue, a rare mental breakthrough that allows him to push beyond all limits. Upon entering this state, he instantly restores all of his health and gains random buffs, such as increased strength, defense, and resistance to afflictions.”
Boomstick: “Wait, hold up—so if this dude mentally wills it, he can just reset all his injuries mid-fight and come back even stronger?!”
Wiz: “Exactly. This miraculous state allows Leper to continue fighting well past normal human endurance, turning the tide of battle even in the direst situations.”
Boomstick: “That is insane. Imagine facing this dude, thinking you’ve finally put him down, and then BAM! He’s fully healed and even stronger!”
Wiz: "However, despite his monstrous endurance, Leper has severe weaknesses. His disease affects his accuracy, making his attacks highly unreliable. He is also one of the slowest warriors in combat, meaning a faster opponent can easily outmaneuver him. And if a battle drags on for too long, his body will begin to fail him."
Boomstick: "So basically, if he misses too many attacks, or if an enemy keeps dodging him, he’s in deep trouble."
Wiz: "Exactly. While he can withstand tremendous punishment, a faster and more precise opponent can exploit his weaknesses."
Boomstick: "Still, he’s a walking death machine… just don’t look at his face. Yikes."
Leper’s Final Words
Leper: "Spare the others. I am ready."
