Windows 11 Dolby Access atmos stopped working entirely
Hello everyone, I am very frustrated at this point. The main issue is that my gaming setup stopped working AGAIN and I have no idea how to fix it. Let me go through my setup first:
* RTX 3090 PC
* Pc connected via HDMI to a Samsung S95B tv
* Sonos beam gen 2 sound bar via eArc to my TV
What's my problem:
So I have a nice living room TV gaming setup the problem is the fricking audio is driving me nuts. I have had this setup for 2 years now and is the 3rd time this has happened. For some reason, Dolby Atmos for Home Theater stops working whenever I play an Exclusive Full screen game, I have had been able to get around this via ctrl + win + v to bring up the sound devices, change it to another output and change it back to my TV and then the game sound works.
The happened today that I had an issue with HDR (Windows HDR and Elden Ring engine is driving me nuts, seriously) so I had to restart my PC. Once I restarted, Dolby Atmos stopped working altogether. No sound from ANYTHING, not in game, not the windows volume, nothing. If I turn of Dolby Atmos, I have stereo, but the moment I re enable it just nothing.
I have the exclusive mode off, I retried reinstalling the audio drivers, reinstalling the dolby access app and still nothing. The only way I have been able to fix this in the past is to reinstall windows and I just did that one month ago due this reason, this is super frustrating. Man, I cannot wait for Linux to be the main platform for gaming as Windows is always making weird stuff.
Also at some point something weird happened in my debugging adventure: The Dolby Access had sound but nothing else. No chrome tab, no windows sounds, no games, nothing. But then after more trouble shooting also the app sound is gone so who knows what's up.
Has anyone had this issue and a possible fix? Thank you!
