MRX-009 Psycho Gundam
I've been wanting to build this kit for over 10 years and I finally committed. I’m so excited for the MKii later this year and wanted to make sure the tag team was ready!
I'm really happy with the final built and it may be one of my best paint jobs to date. I wanted to do something fun that felt "final boss" like.
Cameo by the entry grade RX-78 and his son (an old gacha sized Psycho Gundam).
Build details: - Paint: Kaizo, Gaia notes - Final top coat: Mr. Super Smooth clear - Decals: Combo of the Delpi Psycho sheet and misc decals place by what felt right. - No mods other than paint. - I used holographic vinyl measured with calipers and cut with my Cricut for the particle cannons. - Total build time: 4 weeks and maybe 40-50 hours.
Kit thoughts: 1. This kit is very old and very toy-like. 2. It has a lot of ABS parts and working with them was a pain. It doesn't sand well and seam line removal was not easy. 3. A lot of masking was required to isolate the smaller elements.
