Looking for someone in downtown Eureka who frequents coffee shops and might be snarky

Hi, I wrote this little thing about walking around and getting coffee around downtown Eureka for some friends in 2014. Was wondering (since I no longer live there) if anyone can offer some updates on places still operating or new places?

Here it is:

I love to drink coffee. And Eureka is increasingly becoming a town that I can drink it in, often.

In the downtown Eureka area, for a coffee (plus other stuff) there are about 9 places to go within a one mile radius. Here are my tweet size reviews.

In order of closest to the Eureka Inn:

Black Lightning Motorcycle Cafe, 440 F St:

Great bathroom. Private, secure & with pictures of handsome famous men on motorcycles.

Starbucks, 326 5th St:

Provides great comfort to anyone because Colin Ferrell went there.

Amigas, 317 5th St:

Quiet, except at lunch time where single men congregate. Has Planet Chai & dark chocolate mochas.

Because Coffee, Corner of F & 3rd Sts:

New coffee shop, still trying to catch the place when it’s open!

Old Town Coffee & Chocolates, 211 F St:

Big, loud, active, busy, bricks everywhere. Not sure it’s earthquake safe.

Ramones,209 E St:

Eureka standard. Seemingly always busy, excellent everything baked. Drip coffee hit & miss.

The Co-op, 25 4th St:

Perfect if you like to shop & drink Planet Chai or other frothy drinks.

Downtown Express Cafe, 734 5th St:

Located across the street from City Hall, perfect for the political Watchdog.

Jitterbean,1836 5th St:

Actually, a drive thru but accepting of walk-ups. Best house coffee in Eureka.

I left out Dutch Brothers, because I haven’t been there.
