Kansai One Pass vs regular ICOCA
I'll be travelling to Japan soon, landing in KIX in Osaka. I was planning on getting an ICOCA for general transportation purposes but I've recently become aware of the Kansai One Pass. From what I can tell, it's a specially printed ICOCA with special discounts on several Kansai locations. It costs JPY3000 but you get JPY2500 of credit, so only JPY500 of deposit, same as the regular ICOCA. They also say it has a longer activation life than the regular ICOCA.
So the advantages are minor but from what I can gather, there's no downside to getting the One Pass instead of the ICOCA. I'm now planning on getting the One Pass if I can.
Anybody got experience with the Kansai One Pass? Downsides / upside?
