Backlash at the corporate oligarchs

I read a couple posts here recently about unleashing our anger on whoever does the layoff i.e. the manager or the HR person. While this can be therapeautic, I think it is misguided.

Here are the real culprits.

1) CEO's will promise the board amazing gains to extend their contracts. When they fail, they are more than happy to layoff people to make up the numbers. BONUS ACHIEVED.

2) Executives will overhire, doing a piss poor job of capacity planning or doing a poor job running the company. No problem. Simply get rid of a bunch of people. CEO's are never penalized for their f-ups. There is no recourse for plebs. Unlike Europe and Japan, therr are no regulatory penalties for destroying worker's professional lives.

3) Private equity assholes will buy a business with zero intention of long term success. They want to make numbers look good on a 3 year horizon. Tear up the company, reduce costs and then sell it at 40% margin. Employees and companies be damned. The CEO for their part is happily complicit.

4) During any of these situations, vindictive execs are more than happy to layoff people they personally dont like. Anyone that dared tp question their stupidity is a prime target. Anyone that is an intellectual threat can be easily dispatched without consequences.

5) continuation of pleasing shareholders - the big guns - not pleb 401k holders like me and you. Outsource everything possible under the guise of AI. Why pay 100$ an hour to your countrymen when you can pay 5$ to someone in India. Blame it on AI to avoid scrutiny.

There seems to be no penalties for these CEOs. Our anger should be directed at CEO's not some cog in HR.

The best thing to do is to name and shame CEO failures and their ineptitude. If their strategy was idiotic, destined for failure and it caused layoffs THEN call them out anonymously on reddit, glassdoor or wherever else. If you have some 411 on their unethical, business practices....spill the beans to the media. Share their self-incriminating emails with whistleblower organizariona. Keep it legal and do this to bad guys. There are obviously Good Leaders.

Will it hurt them in their own pockets? I dont know but its better than yelling at your manager.
