Letby changes legal team and plans new appeal - BBC

Lucy Letby, a former neonatal nurse convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven others, has replaced her legal team and is preparing a fresh appeal. Her new barrister, Mark McDonald, revealed plans to take her case to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) in an effort to bring it back to the Court of Appeal. Despite two previous failed appeals, McDonald believes there is a "strong case that she is innocent," and emphasized that "juries get it wrong, and yes, so do the Court of Appeal."
A group of experts, including neonatologists and statisticians, also raised concerns about how medical statistics and science were presented during Letby’s trial. In a letter to the government, they urged a review of the inquiry set to begin, highlighting the potential for miscarriages of justice in complex medical cases. Their focus is on broader patient safety and healthcare management issues, rather than relitigating Letby’s case.
To give credit where credit is due it was actually the times who broke this story last night not the BBC this morning
