Just installed the Ecliptech Shift-P2+
Bought it over a year ago, finally got around to installing and wiring it up after my motor swap saga this past weekend. Easily my favorite mod I've done apart from my aftermarket head unit.
While I've driven this car for three years or so and feel confident where the red line is just by sound, I still have the tendency to watch the tach hit near the top in my peripheral vision to know when to shift near the limit. This really fixed that, I never look at the tach anymore for that. I just see the lights come up and it just works.
Having hundreds of hours in iRacing and plenty of other racing games, this feels all too natural now lol. Really adds to the already wonderful experience that my NC1 is!
I hear they have a backorder on them now but I do highly recommend them. Install was easy, took about 30 minutes.
Routed two wires for power and RPM from ECU under the intake box, used t-tap connectors to actually make the ECU connections, and a ground connection to the existing ground wiring on the driver side by the strut. Then I just used some heat shrink butt connectors to connect those wires to the ones from the shift light and taped it and zip tied it where necessary to get it all neat. No visible wires and they can't get caught or wrapped or anything when I turn the wheel or when I use the steering wheel height adjustment.
FlyinMiata has instructions for every Gen miata with pictures on install, but I can share more details if anyone wants them on particulars. It really was super easy!
Next up for me is interior footwell lighting, bought it in the same order, also needs wiring with some t-taps under the dash. I'll definitely post how that turns out when I get to it sometime soon!
