IUD placement- better or worse after kids?

I’ve been on the mini pill and my periods have been terrible/irregular and after going through all this rigmarole I got the call today that I can finally get the IUD placed. My OB’s office does it while you’re on your period and I just started mine. So I could go on Monday but… I’m worried the cramping will ruin Christmas for me.

When I had my first one pre-kids the cramping was UNBEARABLE for the first few days. It would be nice to get it on Monday because my husband is around to help with the 2.5 yr old and 13 month old but not if it’s going to mean I’m basically incapacitated on Christmas.
