Why are Japanese players so obsessed with playing Celebi decks

Already done the emblem, so I'm assuming I'm matching with others who have already gotten it too.

there's no extra shine dust rewards this time for completing extra battles beyond the 5 in a row, so wtf are the nonstop Japanese players I'm matching with ONLY PLAYING CELEBI!?!?

Am I missing something culturally here?
