PSA: This is how playing the Portal simultaneously as your consoles ACTUALLY works
So many confusing messages here. Ive been replying in comments here and there but to create some visibility, I figured id clear it up for everyone. Theres two ways to actually play a PS Portal simultaneously with another person on your PlayStation.
1: TWO PSN accounts: One is the way where you have two different accounts, where the portal plays via PSPlus Premium, and another person plays on your PS5, on their PERSONAL account, with your account activated for (offline) license sharing (making it the primary system). The person on the PS5 can then play ALL games from your library, and you can play with them from your personal account while streaming a game off the PSPlus Premium catalog.
2: ONE PSN account: PlayStation’s licensing model works per generation. You can use this to your advantage and you can run a game simultaneously on your personal account from all systems. You can play MGS4 on PS3, FIFA on PSP, Dragonball on PSVita, Dark Souls 3 on PS4 and It Takes Two on PS5. All at the same time while being online on all systems. The Portal only STREAMS the game from any of the mentioned systems. So if you are streaming a PS4 game from the PSPlus Premium library, someone can start Helldivers 2 from your PS5 while also being logged in on your account. As long as the Portal and Playstation are running games of different generations, you can play at the same time on the same account.
Cheers! Questions? Do lemme know and ill be happy to answer.
