Do you guys think we *the player* are Rich?

So in chapter 1, we are introduced to a character via a tape called Rich. Now, I stumbled upon this youtube video where he states that we are Rich. Our character is really good at operating the grab pack, and seeing as Rich was in assembly, he possibly made it. Could we be him?
