California landlord only has 1 payment method.
Hey everyone!
My landlord requires every rent payment to be processed through CheckFreePay, which requires in-person payment at an affiliated center (Walmart, money processing centers, etc.)
When I signed my lease, I was required to send cash or a cashiers check to their office, but they changed over to CheckFreePay around a year ago and it’s been a pain ever since.
There are no other methods they accept to pay rent.
Is this legal? Do I have rights to request a different payment method?
