Worst order of my LIFE!

I TLDR:: a bottle of facial toner exploded in one of my delivery bags apparently ruining the items in the bag that the customer says now have to be trashed I got a one-star review as well as a damaged item on my account feels bad man

took a very large order this morning over 60 items for target. It was mostly groceries with a few Cosmetics as well as toiletries. The order was made at 11:30 for a 12:00 to 1:00 delivery which was already pushing it very hard. I accepted the order because I was in the area and went and started doing the shopping. The shopping went fairly smooth but again it was a huge huge order and piled the shopping cart over the top. One of the items which is now the bane of my existence was a bottle of facial toner. At the end of the order I confirmed everything back did all up and drove it to the client's home as usual. I started on bagging things and I noticed one of the bags seemed a little bit wet. I looked inside and at first glance I thought it was a bottle of shampoo that the cap had come open and had leaked a little bit. I cleaned it up to the best of my ability made everything look nice took a picture sent it to the client and told them what happened along with a small apology.

About 10 minutes later I get a message from the client saying it was not the shampoo it was the facial toner and that the facial toner had opened and was now completely empty and had soaked the inside of the bag that it was in which contained the shampoo conditioner toothpaste toothbrushes and a couple other cosmetics. The customer is now saying that all of those items are completely ruined and have to be thrown away. I've now received a one-star for the entire order as well as a damaged item on my account. And of course no tip. I apologize profusely and offered to go back to the store pick up all of the items that were damaged and pay for them out of my own pocket just to make things right because I just don't feel right about leaving people with damaged items. The customer declined and said that I've done enough to them today. Seems like this pickup in their otherwise large order has completely ruined their shipped experience and I do feel sorry for them and I feel guilty over what happened but at the same time I don't really think that it was due to my own negligence or lack of care. I always take very good care of people's orders and put a lot of time and effort into them and this was just a mishap that I think happens from time to time. Does suck though because now my rating is in the trash and I got no tip
