New to Guilty Gear Strive, Preferred Way to Play?

I’m not interested in trying out keyboard for it personally. So I’d be sticking to controller, but I saw a lot of people say they prefer the dpad over joystick.

I normally would play games like MK, so I tried dpad initially but I honestly couldn’t perform most moves unless I used the joystick. What do you guys play GGS on?

Kinda random thought, but is the gyro a viable alternative? Has anybody tried?
