Trading-in Outback for Ascent
I am considering trading-in my 2019 Outback Limited for an Ascent Limited. The dealer I go to for servicing the Outback has a few used Ascents for sale between the 2019-2021 model years that were used as leases. I really like the additional space, the third row, and the increased hitch tongue weight.
I did bring up my concerns about the CVT issues in the earlier model years to the sales rep, and asked specifically if all the recalls and TSB fixes have been applied to the vehicles for sale. The rep said yes and the dealer would not be allowed to sell them if there were active recalls on any of the vehicles.
I guess my question is…if all the recalls have been applied and everything is fixed, are there still downsides to moving forward with purchasing a used 2019 or 2020 Ascent? Or would you recommend steering clear of 2019 and the early 2020 Ascents entirely?
