Hot take: If Connie would be released these days as DLC character, everyone would go nuts about her ability
title,
I belong to the ppl in this sub that agree on that all of these instant-objective abilities (Connie, Danny, Hands and Wyatt) are all rly unhealthy for the game and create way too fast or rock-paper-scissor type of gameplay.
They're also a big reason why family meta is all about patrol/camping objectives and not giving chase, because you always run at risk to lose an objective in the matter of 2-4secs.
Or Danny who still - up to this day - has no counter aside from killing him (easier said than done) if you don't bring Hands (rock-paper-scissor game design), which still feels rly weird in that it heavily forces you to bring 1 specific character in every game instead of being just allowed to play what you enjoy most rn.
Whenever Danny is in the lobby and you decide to just chill out and not bring Hands (you could, easily just do it and degrade Danny to a cosmetic victim skin variant without ability and 1 perk (fast hands), but you just don't feel like playing Hands rn) and that valve tank gets the tampered message, it still feels you've just been cheated and you're like "Dude, can I just please play the character I want without getting these forced escapes?".
And yh, I probably don't have to explain much about Wyatt's Lv3, because he's been all the talk since release.
Which brings me to one culprit, that I feel often gets ignored or is entirely forgotten in these gameplay problematic discussions: Connie
For some reason Connie has this "under the radar"-protection, simply because she's not a DLC character and therefore apparently "just fine" ... which is rly whack, which is why I wanted to make this hot take post and am 100% convinced, if Connie wasn't in the game right now and the next DLC victim announced would be her with her current ability, everyone would rly hate it.
Like "Hey the next new vicitm can INSTANTLY lock pick!". Everyone would feel like this is rly unhealthy for the game (which it kinda is and a big reason why the gameplay feels like it does and also why other victims like Julieor Ana feel so meaningless in comparison).
Just my opinion, but I'm quite sure about it. Maybe you got a different opinion and thats ok. Just wanted to drop this take because I felt it might be interesting to think about and it might remove that "under the radar" / "release character" protection coat from Connie, who is imo rly bad for the game, just like the other characters I mentioned.
