The Women of Port Haven
I have quite a few questions about last names and why some women seem to know a lot while others don’t.
Evelyn Goodwin was born a Goodwin; she has a son and he’s a Goodwin. Evelyn seems to know something about the pond.
Fern Landry assumedly married into the family and, although seemingly senile, knows something about the pond.
Rebecca Landry married into the family and had to know something about the pond before Jacob came. Why would she have been praying to/over the pond after she lost her child? Crazy theory…did they say Elijah and Rebecca “lost” their baby? Or did it die? If the baby was “lost,” could the two pond jumpers who left the baby at the beginning of S3E1 have been Elijah and Rebecca? I find it odd that they have never shown her year of death when they show Elijah and Rebecca’s gravestones. Ever. And could the baby have been Colton? Their biological child? Just another out there theory! It could be anything!
Alice was not born a Dawan and is a part of the Landry lineage but her last name is not Landry. This is the first we see of this and she’s a key player in the time travel game. She goes to different time periods to help comfort those who have lost someone (Kat, Elliot, now Colton…). It’s almost as if that is her purpose.
Kat was born a Landry and figured out about the pond because of her daughter. She is also a key player in the time travel game, and majorly impacts life events in each time periods she visits.
And now Del. Oh Del. How does she know nothing?! She has to know something and has just been tormented with guilt/anxiety over it. She had to know about the pond but couldn’t say anything, possibly out of fear they would “fill the pond” as they tried to do in 1965, and Jacob would never be able to return.
I have a feeling we will find that Colton’s mom also knew something as there are many similarities between her and Del’s experiences and decisions. Both lost their husbands. Both had a child run off. Both kept the farm going all by themselves…it’s definitely something I would like to find out.
And now something random…I find it odd that “The Point” was “The Point” in the 1800s, “Coyle’s” in 1974, and now it’s “The Point” again in 2025. Why the name changes???
