Apologies for the delay in getting these results out! Without further ado though, the winners are:

• /u/Emi_Ibarazakiii's quaint and simple explanation of the frequently discussed "7/10 average anime score", providing analogies to explain why it is informative. Nominated by /u/LittleIslander

• /u/aniMayor's effective explanation of the concept of anime cinematography, and what r/anime awards jurors look for when evaluating the category. Nominated by /u/LittleIslander

• /u/Gamerunglued's response to a user looking to get into anime to connect with their family contained a lot of good advice, described what is great about anime as a medium, and how best to learn more about it. Nominated by u/zadcap

• /u/Nazenn's furious "THAT MOTHERFUCKING FUCK!" rant in the [Gundam 00] rewatch was a glorious read for the participants. The insult "fuckface", which Nazenn used in lieu of a character's name, also morphed into an in-joke for the rewatch. Nominated by /u/Shimmering-Sky

• /u/lilyvess's short and succinct life message summing up the themes of the [Utena, Penguindrum, YuriKuma] rewatches. Nominated by u/LittleIslander

Covering 2 anime at an important period for the yuri genre, lilyvess showed a strong passion for the topic, provided contemporary opinions from SA.com, and expertly navigated the difficult topics, strong opinions, and other challenges in the rewatch. • /u/mysterybiscuitsoyeah's Hibike Euphonium rewatch. A solid by-the-books rewatch leading into season 3, Biscuits' efforts in cultivating a friendly atmosphere for discussion were not lost on its participants. Nominated by /u/LittleIslander (and thank you Sky for the write-up!)

• /u/chilidirigible's Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai rewatch. chilidirigible provided extensive writeups (and drawings) to explain the aircraft, aerial combat manueuvers, and tactics featured in the show; while sharing production trivia and other anime-associated material/merch. • /u/helioa's Mawaru Penguindrum rewatch. HelioA engaged with participants extensively, creating a fun atmosphere for everyone to dissect the thematically heavy show. They also included a fun easter egg in the rewatch index, [Penguindrum]matching the episode number and titles on the index to the subway stops. Nominated by /u/JollyGee29

• /u/Pixelsaber's 3,000 Leagues in Search of Mother rewatch. Despite a small audience count, frequent host Pixel brought his A-Game as usual, highlighting anime staff members & providing background trivia about the show. Nominated by /u/Shimmering-Sky

• /u/Frontier246 for being a constant dedicated presence in a large number of airing episode discussion threads. They not only leave their top level comment, but also respond to others with care, often hours after the posting time. As an important member of the mod team, badspler updates AutoLovepon's database for seasonal anime, maintains the bots, comment faces and the daily thread, sub staples which all of us appreciate. In addition, badspler also spread awareness for the r/anime 2023 awards AOTY winner (Bang Dream MyGO) by hosting a rewatch shortly after the AOTY announcement. Nominated by /u/MyrnaMountWeazel

• /u/Shimmering-Sky for being the go-to person for everything Rewatches. Shimmering-Sky provides advice to new hosts, promotes upcoming rewatches by creating sidebar banners, as well as hosts and participates in a significant number themselves. • u/HelioA, firstly for their regular hilarious comments and banter in the CDF community, contributing to the fun vibe there; and secondly for their 3 rewatches in 2024, a series focusing on the catalogue of Kunihiko Ikuhara, a director HelioA is passionate about. Nominated by /u/LittleIslander

• /u/ZaphodBeebblebrox's for being a very involved moderator. Since joining the mod team last year, Zaph has helped out a lot with the daily monitoring and maintenance of the sub. • /u/Math082r's analysis of 400 anime for the most popular seat of main characters (2.0). The "main character's seat" by the window seems to be a common sight, and here Math082r provides us with the stats to prove it. Nominated by /u/zsmg

• u/Marafusa-chan's 2 hour compilation of Anime Girls Noises . A project that initially started 6 years ago, this is an extensive collection of every sort of female characters' noises, catchphrases and common voice lines. Nominated by /u/Komarist

• u/Zylda's thread of lesser known anime with interesting visuals. The list contained shows throughout different eras, with thoughtful images showcasing the visuals of each pick. Nominated by /u/FetchFrosh

• /u/Shimmering-Sky's wallpaper for [Madoka Magica], with nice composition and use of gradients, created as part of their co-hosting efforts for the annual [Madoka Magica] rewatch. Nominated by /u/Punished_Scrappy_Doo

• u/ATargetFinderScrub's Renge reference chart, listing a wide selection of Renge lookalikes across anime, and how they compare to the OG; the categorizations are funny and reference the actual characters. Nominated by /u/Komarist

Best Original Essay

• /u/RPO777's [Dandadan]: A Brief Explanation of the Takakura Ken Joke. RPO777 breaks down an elaborate Japanese pop culture related joke, which non-Japanese audiences may not have understood and appreciated the context of as much. Nominated by /u/FetchFrosh

• u/LittleIslander's essay about Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter from [Sailor Moon]. A 2-part essay (w/ fanart section), LittleIslander takes a deep dive into Sailor Jupiter and her character arcs and moments throughout the series, finishing with a tribute to her voice actor, Emi Shinohara. Nominated by /u/Shimmering-Sky

• u/GallowDude's critique of [FMAB episode 54]. A 3-part essay, GallowDude first launches into a passionate, detailed, occasionally philosophical critique of the episode's plot and character writing, followed by more emotional raw reactions as they were rewatching the episodes. • /u/AmethystItalian's 2024 AmeAwards. Its 4th annual outing, AmethystItalian highlights their picks for the best and worst anime of 2024, based on their own genuine, individual love for anime vs consensus or mass appeal. • u/_BMS's WT! for Maison Ikkoku.
