Cant even have a birthday without being reminded of childlessness

Me and my husband dont have kids, we have had many discussions about it and his opinion is "I would rather use my skills and wealth to help the existing children than bring a new one in the world" He also has macular degenaration, for which he got no support, his parents just expected him to act normal and make his way, which he did. He has voiced that he doesnt wanna do that to a child. I dont think he even knows what an antinatalist is,but these are his beliefs and luckily mine too. So we are childless but happy, and very much in love.

I threw him a lovely 33rd bday party. And as soon as he cut the cake, amidst the clapping and the birthday song, his mother said

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY. YOU HAVE SO MUCH HAPPINESS IN YOUR LIFE, NOW MAY GOD GIVE YOU A HEALTHY BABY BOY"

his expression changed and idk it was so sad. I had worked so hard to make him loved and special and enough and idk i feel like this hurt him.
