Release notes
In this update, we're excited to announce the Nutrition Score!
Please note that this is a phased release over seven days. If you want to update immediately, you can download it from the App Store here.
Since day one, our mission has been to build a truly personalized health companion that understands all aspects of your life. However, there's always been one key component that's been missing, and that is Nutrition.
With Bevel 2.0, you can now track your food intake throughout the day and receive a personalized score to see how foods impact your body.
The Nutrition Score
The Nutrition score is made up of two parts. First, there’s the Food Quality Score, which looks at things like added sugars, sodium, and the balance of your macros.
Then, there’s the Glucose Impact Score, which measures how your body reacts to what you eat. The Glucose Impact score uses your glucose monitors like Libre and Dexcom to calculate a personalized score that shows the impact of foods on your body.
Please note that the Glucose Impact score is based on your baselines, so it can take up to 20 logged meals for your Glucose Impact score to be accurate.
Track Food Effortlessly
You can log food into Bevel by taking a photo of your food, recipe, or receipt. You can also describe using natural language, scan barcodes, or search from over 5 million verified food items in our database.
In addition, you can create recipes or favorite frequently eaten foods for easy access. If you use another app to log food, Bevel can pull in the calories and macronutrients from Apple Health to show in the app. However, because Bevel does not have all the context of your meals, it cannot calculate a Nutrition score for foods imported from Apple Health. We have plans to create an estimated Nutrition score for imported foods in the future.
Integration With Journal
One of the best features of Bevel's Nutrition tracker is that it has the context about the rest of your health. When you log food items, the Journal will automatically populate certain tags based on your eating habits and ingredients.
For example, if you eat foods with added sugars, Bevel can automatically detect that and log it into your Journal. So without having to toggle anything in Journal manually, you can see what foods and diets improve your Sleep and Recovery.
At the moment, the automated tags are Keto Diet, Late Meal, Low Carbs, Added Sugars, and Nutrition Score. In the future, we have plans to add other tags like Dairy Free, Intermittent Fasting, and Gluten Free. If you have any suggestions, please submit them to our feedback board.
Other Fixes & Improvements
- Four new Nutrition iOS home screen widgets.
- A redesign of the Journal page to show all tags (including automatic tags).
- Automatic tags will show the progress throughout the day.
- Three new app icons (Prism, Synth, Meadow) were added.
- Added the ability to hide certain features from the tab bar.
- Many other bug fixes & UI improvements.
Up Next
Nutrition marks an important milestone for Bevel with version 2.0. With Strain, Sleep, Recovery, and now Nutrition, we’re bringing together all the pieces of your health into one connected system.
We have many planned upgrades for existing features this year, such as an overhaul of the Fitness tab to include more in-depth training metrics, a more comprehensive version of Strength Builder, and an upgraded coaching function to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
Thank you for your patience. We're grateful to have you on our journey to build a truly personalized health companion. The last year of building Bevel has been so much more than what we could've asked. We're excited to show you what's in store for the rest of 2025.
