Going from two browsers to one.
Currently I use two browsers regularly: Chrome and Firefox. I’ve used Firefox as my main browser for years. I use it on my iPhone and send tabs back and forth from desktop to phone and vice versa as needed.
Chrome I only use on my desktop for streaming video. I basically use it as a dedicated video player, keeping different streaming tabs open in it that often play in the background.
I’ve liked having two separate browsers for these different functions, but I’m starting to wonder if I should just use one. If so, what should I go with?
Things I believe to be true (I could be wrong):
I think Chrome, or Chromium-based browsers will outlive Firefox.
I like the speed of Edge and I have a good friend at MS that vouches for it over Chrome. I do wish it was more trimmed down though.
I like being able to send tabs between devices on Firefox.
I like the security of Firefox.
I really like tab grouping on Chrome, which Firefox doesn’t have. I currently solve this by just having multiple Firefox windows open, each with their own related tabs. Dedicated grouping would be preferred.
Using two browsers is starting to feel silly. Should I slim down to just one and what would you guys suggest?
Thanks!
