Missing summer camping in Alaska

Juneau is home to several glaciers, the most prominent of which is pictured above: Mendenhall Glacier.

The relatively short hike to this spot starts in one of the larger neighborhoods in town, and with all the summer light you can leave work and get up to it by sunset. No worries if it’s a weekday; you can be back down and at the office by 8!
