Daedalus Wallet now unusable

Haven't done anything with Cardano in awhile -- recently updated from 4.3.0 to 4.6.1 a and now the client is taking longer than the age of the universe to sync. Any tips?

Is the cardano blockchain getting bogged down with txs?

I have 300MB/s wired connection fwiw
