Is it possible to have 2 different Spotify profiles with different names? I'd like use them to write in different genres.
During the last year I've been making a few professional recordings of my classical pieces, and I'd like to post them on Spotify. I'm doing this more for personal gratification than anything else, because I'm aware that this will not generate any significant revenue.
However, I also have about 130' of tracks written in a somewhat more popular genre that (I think) might stand a change at generating a few bucks. I've read that some of the most important tips to have a modicum of success in that world are being consistent with the genre, keeping the duration under 4', and making one release every month. Thus, I'd like to use 2 Spotify profiles to avoid alienating the listeners of each genre.
My classical profile would use my legal name and contain only 3-4 tracks for now. My "popular" genre would use a pseudonym and have a few more tracks. I'd also create separate social media accounts to promote the music for the second account as well.
Is this possible? I read that some distributors now have made using your legal name mandatory, but are there were ways to circumvent this? Any suggestions? I was thinking of using CDbaby.
