Christi was the problem?

I just refinished season 3 of dance moms, and honestly watching the show older and wiser, Christi was the problem? I know editing and producers alter the narrative but Christi is almost insufferable to watch. She picks fights with everyone, makes anything and everything a problem, and truly is always playing the victim. Even when Chloe gets something good or was treated nicely, Christi is there ready to have a problem with it and spin it in a way where it’s a “bad” thing. Watching the show the first time around I used to admire Christi for standing up for Chloe, but this time she just seems to instigate everything and everyone no matter what.

Rewatching, the mother I really admired was Kelly. The way she did stand up for her kids and the arguments she had were all valid IMO. Christi, on the other hand, found a problem in every situation and was never happy no matter what. She also often inserted herself into situations where there was no need to. She also always took it a step too far: Melissa’s divorce, Abby’s body, etc. What’s funny to me with how much she hated being there, she never took the initiative to leave the show (I know there’s contracts and whatever, but the hyland’s did what they needed to in order to leave, it’s def possible).

I think Chloe was an amazing dancer and had the opportunity to succeed and even to have a positive relationship with Abby, but the way Christi acted towards everyone and especially Abby spoiled that opportunity for Chloe.

(Side note: it also bugs me how much Christi hangs onto the show in current times. If it was that miserable put it in your past and move on. Seems like a bit of fame mongering to me)
