Elgato HD60S 3.0 issue

Hello everyone I know that this has been all over but I have been using my elgato with my pc for years and all of a sudden it isn’t working. I got it to work for a little while and then it stopped again and I’m curious if I get a usb 3.0 hub and attach it to the 3.0 port on my motherboard can that possibly fix this?
