Advice regarding the x100vi
In need of advice!
Hi everyone, I’m considering adding the Fujifilm X100VI to my lineup, and I’d love some input to see if it’s the right fit. Here’s a little context:
I currently shoot with the Canon RP and R6 for professional photography work. They’re fantastic, but I’m looking for something compact and lightweight for every day use—a camera that’s easy to carry around and quick to use without sacrificing quality.
What I’m hoping to use the X100VI for:
- Travel Photography - I want a compact setup for capturing various scenes while traveling, from landscapes to street photography.
- Documentary & Film Photography Style - I’m drawn to the film-like aesthetics Fujifilm is known for, and I love the idea of capturing candid moments.
- Everyday Use: Something that’s portable and intuitive enough to take anywhere for general snapshots and creative experiments.
I’m new to Fujifilm, so ease of use is important—though I’m not averse to learning a new system! The fixed lens doesn’t bother me; in fact, I see it as a creative challenge. For those who own or have used the X100 VI:
- What's your favourite thing about it?
- Do you think this camera would fit the bill?
- How does it hold up for travel and documentary-style shooting?
- Any concerns or limitations I should consider?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and advice! Thanks in advance!
If there's another model you think would be a better fit, please let me know which and why! And, if you're an X100VI owner, if you don't mind sharing the price you got it for that would be great so I can compare!
*I know this camera is tough to come by but I think I've found one so I'm just looking for advice regarding this :)
