outdoor rinks

this is probably a dumb question but i’m genuinely curious. are outdoor rinks hard to find in america? i see lots of people on this sub saying they’ve never played hockey outside or on a pond. i live in alberta canada and in the small city im from, there are about 5 ODR’s within a 10 minute drive from my house.

obviously this question doesn’t apply to the states that stay warm year round. i just always assumed places that get cold in the winter have the same perks that we do.
