How did this all happen?

Hey everyone, I try to follow world events to see what’s going on and what not. I’m somewhat interested in the events that led up to the civil war in Myanmar. US news doesn’t really cover it so I’m wondering. What led to the coup? Why did the military take control of the country? Makes me sad just seeing all these people get massacred for what? It’s horrible.
