What is your opinion on Legacy Wins?

Do you think the award should go to the best performance of the submitted film and not because of how long they've been in the industry?

My opinion on that:

It's a cycle of young actors getting snubbed in favor of older actors getting legacy wins, then those young actors grow up and continue to turn in good performances until one day it's "so and so doesn't have an Oscar? That's crazy; they deserved one for the insert role from X years ago, where they lost to a legacy performance. Let's just give them one now," and we do that over and over again.
