How to avoid having to give up my bird?
I've had my green cheek conure for over 5 years, but because of having to move to Orlando to attend college my parents have been looking after her for over a year now with me coming to visit every now and again when I can.
However, due to personal circumstances my parents are going to be selling their house in about 6 months and likely moving into an apartment that probably won't allow birds (they'll probably have to give up many of their other pets as well).
The apartment I'm living in now has made it clear that they don't allow birds despite being pet-friendly, otherwise I would have brought her with me when I first moved in. I don't want to give her up for adoption since I know parrots don't tend to rehome well, especially one who's known me for so long, but I don't know what else to do. I've tried finding other apartments that may be more bird-friendly but I have yet to find one that's within my price range.
If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do, or can recommend any apartments in the Orlando area that allow pet birds I'd really appreciate it, as I love my bird and already feel terrible that I've had to have my family take care of her for me while I've been away for school.
