I don't understand why everyone is ecstatic about The Henry Stickmin Collection

solved: This game is most likely bought only by people already liking it considering its singular distribution history. In a more normal context it would probably be a "mostly positive" game. Thanks for your answers!

It is very hard to find any kind of negative feedback about this game, even the Steam negative reviews are actually very positive.

I've played the first 15 minutes -which I admit isn't what can be called patient but bear with me- and while I was expecting some kind of multiple choices story all I got was a poor man's minesweeper. Click there, you win, click here, you lose.

I understand the story develops later according to these choices but the core mechanics (mechanic?) is very poor to say the least. I surprised myself daydreaming 10 minutes into the game, completely forgetting I was playing something.

Now I don't doubt this could appeal to some people but it doesn't make sense to me that non-dithyrambic feedback is nowhere to be found. To the point where I genuinely wondered if this wasn't some kind of collective troll.

So before refunding I would like to make sure I am not severely missing something, since I appear to be the only one on the internet having this point of view.
