Conch piercing fell out

I got my conch piercing around 1.5-2 months ago and (I thought) it was healing rly well bc I didn’t feel any pain or irritation with it after ~2 wks. However the backing fell out today and when I asked my friend to put it back in, and they noticed a big red bump on the back, which I’m guessing is a keloid. Since i’ve already had to put it back in once, would it be bad to put in a cute labret or a hoop instead? The bars for both are surgical steel, just like the original one I have on currently.
