Playing singleplayer on the new ARK app on the island. My Procopteron Babies are maturing too fast to imprint maturing

New to ark and trying to get an imprinted procopteron to cruise the island on. Playing single player and I dont have access to changing baby mature speed. Are certain dinos just unable to imprint for me? I've tried twice now and the timer will say "baby wants care in 20 minutes" but then I turn around and its all grown up.
