functional productivity tools?

Hi everyone, I'm a student and have to balance and organize a ton of stuff daily, including scheduling stuff and making to-do lists and everything. As of now I'm kind of splitting tasks between various platforms (like using google calendar for scheduling and onenote and the notes app for things i need to do) but it's hard to keep track of and most of the time I end up scribbling on my hand, forgetting, or checking my phone every five minutes to make sure I'm not forgetting.

I know there are apps like Notion that everyone recommends to stay organized, and I'm looking for a similar all-in-one place esp where I can have to-dos and a detailed day-to-day calendar in one place, but the issue I have with Notion is that you need to LEARN how to use it, and it gets overwhelming real quick with all the templates and other superfluous stuff you need to get through in order to do something basic (for example it's nearly impossible to have a calendar with recurring events unless you have a specialized template or something). I was wondering if there was a better, more intuitive, user-friendly app for this instead. I'm not looking for something cute or aesthetic, just easily functional and not overwhelming to use
