I was never able to stick to the gym until

I watched a documentary on Antarctica. Now, whenever I go to the gym, I listen to podcast episodes about Antarctica and watch tourism videos on the treadmill. For the latter, I do 12 incline and imagine myself trekking an icy mound. My pipe dream now is to work in Antarctica for a year (which fits with my experience), but I know I need to be in way better shape if I want to actually take it all in. Right now, I’m stick thin and can barely even leg curl 30 pounds.

I even wake up at 6am and take cold showers now, and I imagine I’m already there. The ice purifies my soul. I eat Moroccan sardines out of the can now.

So, if any of you have trouble sticking to the gym— you just need a dream larger than yourself. Like me, I’m going to find the giant ice wall at the end of our earth.
